Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the safety and feasibility of surgical approach in ovarian fibroma after abdominoplasty.

Methods

Assess the patient′s preoperative condition before laparoscopy, communicate with the patient, and review the relevant literature, to choose the new umbilicus and the original abdominal wall plastic scar as laparoscopic surgery approach.

Results

Laparoscopic puncture access was selected through the new umbilicus and the original scar route. The pneumoperitoneum was successfully established, and the ovarian tumor was completely excised. Intraoperative pathological findings suggested a right ovarian borderline ovarian tumor (BOT). The patient was discharged on the second postoperative day. Follow-up one week later showed good wound healing. At one-month postoperative follow-up, body image scale (BIS) score of 5, and a cosmetology score (CS) of 23.

Conclusions

Postoperative patients who have undergone abdominoplasty can safely undergo laparoscopic surgery by choosing the new umbilical and original abdominal wall plastic scar as the access route.
