Abstract:

The da Vinci robot minimally invasive transanal surgery has become a popular technique for rectal benign neoplasia, but is rarely reported in China. In Jan. 2022, the first robotic transanal minimally invasive surgery for rectum polyp was performed in the PLA General Hospital, with the surgical time of approximately 40 min and an amount of blood loss of approximately 10 ml, with no perioperative complications and no postoperative pathological evidence of tumor residue. Da Vinci robotic surgical operating system has the potential to facilitate minimally invasive transanal surgery and meet the trend for anal preservation and functional surgery.

Key words: Da Vinci robotic surgery, Minimally invasive transanal surgery, Rectal benign neoplasia
