Combined video-assisted thoracic surgery with gastroscope for esophageal foreign body, esophageal rupture

Objective

To investigate the surgical treatment of thoracic esophageal foreign body with perforation.

Methods

Department of Thoracic Surgery, The Hospital of Chifeng University, 11 patients with thoracic esophageal perforation in case of esophageal foreign body underwent repair of Video-assisted thoracic surgery and gastyoscope with endoscopy surgery treatment after take out the foreign body, one case for a period of repair suture, the rest were treated conservatively.

Results

11 patients were recovered.

Conclusions

Conservative surgical reatment should be positive for thoracic esophageal foreign body with perforation of longer time, thoracoscope and gastroscope surgery is a very good choice.
