The situs inversus totalis (SIT) patient undergoing robot assisted radical hysterectomy surgery successfully: a case report

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the safety and feasibility of robot-assisted radical hysterectomy in patients with situs inversus totalis.

Methods

A retrospective analysis of the clinical information of a patient with situs inversus totalis combined with cervical cancer in the Department of Gynecology, First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University in Jan. 2019.

Results

The patient successfully completed the operation. The total operation time was 7 hours, the operation time of the surgeon was 6.5 hours, the intraoperative blood loss was about 50 ml, and the postoperative pathology was cervical squamous cell carcinoma.

Conclusions

Da Vinci robot-assisted radical hysterectomy for patients with situs inversus totalis and cervical cancer has a certain degree of safety and effectiveness. At the same time, it has the advantages of small trauma, less pain, quick recovery, and beautiful incision.
