Endoscopic multiple mucosal ligation in gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract:

Objective

To explore safety and efficacy of endoscopic multiple mucosal ligation (EMML) for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Methods

In the study 17 patients with GERD received EMML from Jun. 2019 to Dec. 2020. The 24 h esophageal pH-resistance monitoring (DeMeester) scores, GERD-questionnaires (GERD-Q) symptom scores and clinical efficacy before and after operation were compared.

Results

All of patients received EMML successively and none severe complication was observed. DeMeester score, GERD-Q symptom score significantly decreased after surgery.

Conclusions

EMML is a feasible, safe and effective method treatment for gastro-esophageal reflux.
