Clinical experience of laparoscopy or hybrid surgery for repairing giant abdominal incisional hernia with concealed inguinal hernia

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the advantages and key points of laparoscopic combined with small abdominal incision "hybrid operation" in repairing giant abdominal incisional hernia with concealed inguinal hernia.

Methods

A case of giant incisional hernia with concealed inguinal hernia in an elderly man was treated by laparoscopy combined with small abdominal incision "hybrid operation" and anti-adhesion patch.

Results

The operation time was about 130 min, the subcutaneous drainage tube was removed 3 d after operation, the exhaust time was 48 h after operation, the defecation time was 64 h, the patient was discharged 5 d after operation, and the suture was removed 9 d after operation without any obvious complications.

Conclusions

"Hybrid operation" is safe and feasible in repairing giant incisional hernia with or without concealed hernia, and has the advantages of less trauma, less postoperative pain, faster recovery, shorter hospital stay and lower recurrence rate.
