Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the safety and identify the learning curve of laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) technique in the surgery of tubal pregnancy.

Methods

The medical records from 37 patients who had undergone LESS from Oct. 2016 to Jun. 2018 in the Qingdao Women and Children′s Hospital were reviewed. All the surgery performed by the same surgeon. We plotted the learning curve based on operation time versus sequence of cases.

Results

All 37 cases were successfully completed, and no surgical changes in surgery. The average operation time was (52.02±15.70)min, the intraoperative blood loss was (20.95±9.19)ml, the postoperative bowl recovery time was(15.65±5.84)h and the postoperative hospitalization time was (1.43±0.55) d. 1 case suffered from postoperative bleeding puncture. The learning curve showed that the operation time shortened as the number of cases increased, and about 20 cases could cross the learning curve.

Conclusions

The LESS technique in the surgery of tubal pregnancy is safe and feasible and the learning curve is approximate 20 cases.
