The clinical analysis of laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy in 15 patients with tumors in pancreatic body and tail

Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the clinical application effects of laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy(LDP) on 15 patients with tumors in pancreatic body and tail.

Methods

Clinical data about 15 patients with tumors in pancreatic body and tail selected from Jun. 2013 to Jun. 2015 were retrospectively analyzed.There were 5 males and 10 females among 15 cases, aged 27 to 70 years old.15 cases were given LDP under general anesthesia.The operational results were analysised.

Results

15 patients were successful in LDP, 6 cases received retained spleen surgery.The operation time was 135-375(267.5 ± 95.9)min; blood loss was 160-450 (285.7 ± 103.8)ml.There were 1 case of pancreatic leakage, 2 cases of subcutaneous emphysema, which were cured by conservative treatment.The postoperative hospital days were 9-21(14.8 ± 4.4)days.Postoperative pathologic results showed 10 cases of pancreatic cancer including 7 cases of ductal adenocarcinoma and 3 cases of cystadenocarcinoma, 2 cases of serous, 2 cases of mucinous cystadenoma, 1 case of real pseudopapillary.

Conclusions

LDP has the advantages of small trauma, fewer complications, faster recovery as well, which was a safe and effective surgical method.
